“As an ‘ethnobotanical artist’ my work embodies many layered considerations and narratives including environmental, cultural, symbolic and spiritual. My work has a multidisciplinary approach with a strong research base, I engage with plant material accessed from my local landscape, National Plant Collections and Community Projects. My sculptural pieces are influenced by the Japanese ‘Oshibana’ tradition of making pictures using pressed flowers and other botanical materials. For this exciting project at The Guildhall I shall be using the beautiful garden as my inspiration.”
