The Guildhall Season!

25 May 2021

21st June - 11th July! Three weeks of live events!

The team at Bury St Edmunds Guildhall are delighted to announce that the Guildhall will reopen in June for three weeks of events, showcasing local talent and helping to bring a bit of culture back to our calendars. Music, theatre, talks, exhibitions, and workshops – there will be something for everyone.

Highlights will include a celebration of creativity from the Fashion and Textiles students at West Suffolk College, outdoor concerts by musicians Ricky Solo and Woody Marcus, a talk by popular local historian Martyn Taylor, and a performance of Quirkhouse Theatre’s original drama ‘Seventh Train’, which won the prestigious Kenneth Branagh Award for new drama.

The Guildhall Season will be a chance to discover old secrets, with a tour of Bury’s streets, led by town guide Terry O’Donoghue, and an opportunity to try something completely new with taster sessions of yoga and tai-chi.

The team at the Guildhall are looking forward to seeing familiar faces, including early music trio Hexachordia and costume expert Kindra Jones, and welcoming new groups like the Not So Nice! Theatre Company, who will be premiering their wedding-themed immersive theatre experience ‘Til Death Do Us Part’.

These events are all about celebrating local talent, supporting this special venue, and contributing to Bury St Edmunds’ fantastic bounce-back following a difficult year.
