A newly-opened tourist destination and heritage centre is preparing to unveil its own beer

to coincide with a late summer festival.

The Late Summer Beer and Pie Festival at Bury St Edmunds Guildhall is offering 20 real ales alongside six ciders and a delicious selection of pies, pastries and Ploughman’s plates.  The event, which is open to over 18s only, runs on Friday 21st September from 5pm to 10pm and over two sessions on Saturday 22nd September – from 11am until 4pm and 5pm to 10pm.

Those attending will also be able to try the new Guildhall Ale which has been developed by the local Brewshed brewery specifically for this festival.

Suzanne Stevenson, manager at the Guildhall, said: “This is going to be a great event for lovers of real ale and cider and fans of delicious food, all served in our historic Guildhall.”

Bury St Edmunds Guildhall opened in July after an extensive restoration programme and is home to the world’s only surviving World War Two Control Centre. It also houses a Medieval Hall, Victorian courtroom and Tudor kitchen.
