Illustrated Talk – Embroidery at War and Peace: 10th November

To accompany the HOMECOMING HEARTS exhibition.

Embroidery is often considered a “peaceful” pastime, but it has played its part in many bloody conflicts over the centuries.  In this eye-opening talk, Helen will be putting this “gentle” art into a wholly new light.  Following the talk, she will be happy to accompany attendees for a personal interpretation of the HOMECOMING HEARTS themselves.  (Those who attended Helen M. Stevens’ lecture on September 8th “THE CONQUERING STITCH” will find this particularly interesting as it expands upon the earlier talk.)

2.00 p.m.  Admission £6.50 (concessions £5.00)
