Hexachordia Concert – All in a Garden Green – postponed

18 May 2021

Join us at Bury St Edmunds Guildhall, for a celebration of gardens through the ages in music and words.

The early music trio, Hexachordia, presents a celebration of the English garden in music, song and words. Playing on authentic copies of original instruments from the Medieval and Tudor eras such as the harp, recorder, gittern, lute and viol, the group performs music inspired by formal gardens and the English countryside. This music is interspersed with contemporary readings, reflecting on the evolution of the English garden through to the seventeenth century.

The Hexachordia trio offers a fresh approach to early music. By combining music with the spoken word the trio aims to tell a story with each of their concert programmes. They believe that by placing music into context, it brings both the historic period and the music itself to life.
